doesn't take much...

so the two copiers at school are past their prime. majorly. last weekend i went in to copy review sheets and one copier had a "broken" sign posted on it and the other was functioning, but out of staples... guess who got to staple review packets together by hand? yeah, that'd be me!

tuesday i ran downstairs to copy something and BOTH copiers had "broken" signs on them. good thing it wasn't anything important that i wanted to copy... just extra copies of a review packet for those dear children who lost that 11-page bundle of joy.

wednesday morning i'm in my geometry meeting and an english teacher, ryan, is in the room, too. (he is the "english coach" and so he shares the office with the "math coach" so he's in there a lot). and so ryan says that we're getting a new copier on thursday. and we're like, we've heard that one before. and he goes, well, this is from jackie... so then we knew we would really get a new one and then i get really excited and go "ohh, tomorrow is thursday!" and ryan goes "ohh, you should be a detective!" smart alleck.

thursday i need to copy a worksheet... it's double-sided so that could be trouble, but it's only one piece of paper so no staples... good news. the copier makes seven copies and jams and shows this little wrench symbol in like five places... so i start opening everything up and i find like four or five pieces of paper so i take them out and all the wrenches are still there. ryan comes in and sees me and goes, "whose winning?" and i respond, "i'm pretty sure the copier is." he leaves and someone else comes over and looks, nothing. so i go to jackie (the most wonderful all-knowing secretary) and she says, "turn it off. it's broken. they're replacing it today." so then i wait for the other copier. the teacher on there finishes so it's mine. i press clear, put my originals in and whatnot, press start and the stapler starts making noises and goes crazy (NOTE: i am not stapling anything). i go to find jackie and she is MIA. so i open up the stapler and take the staple cartridge out. nothing. put it back in. nothing. i turn the copier off and take the stapler out and all the staples fall out. but it started copying just fine and so i put the staples back in the stapler and just left it on the copier and told the next person about it and wished her luck. on the way up, who do i run into? ryan. he goes, "i'm guessing the copying didn't go so well... you look pissed" and i go "yeah, i pretty much broke both of them." and that was that.

later thursday i hear that BOTH the copiers in the copy room were replaced and so were the ones in the counselors office and principal's copy room. whoa. those are the two less reliable ones so now we might actually have FOUR working copiers... i just don't even know. but anyway, i go down fifth hour to copy finals for the very next day (yeah, great timing on copiers being broken... right when EVERYONE needs it to copy reviews and finals) and the new copiers are huge and AWESOME! they are so nice!

friday morning i'm walking upstairs and see ryan and he goes, "is it disturbing that i want to make love to the copiers" and i go "it's a little weird, but i'm sad that i don't have anything left to copy because i really want to use them."

and so that is my copier saga... but i was seriously so excited about these new copiers! i think i've told everyone i've seen so far about them! (my mom understood and was happy for me... i think everyone else thought i was crazy, but read the title... it doesn't take much!)
