maybe i should start writing on here again. i don't know, nothing too exciting going on. but anyway, i do have a rather humorous story. so monday night when i was checking the forecast, tuesday looked rather depressing: rain and wind. in fact, we even had a strong wind warning. (i know, who knew those existed?!?!? not me...) well, i sleep well. i don't wake up to storms. tuesday the alarm goes off and i am forced to get up. it's still dark out, but i can hear the wind. crazy. it might even be raining, but can't be too sure, because let's be honest, it's not quite six so i don't actually care about anything because i'm feeling zombie-esque. fast foward half and hour and i'm getting ready to dry my hair so i go into my room and yep, it's raining. not in my room, mind you, but rather i can hear it on the window. i finish getting ready and by now it's really pouring. crap. can i please have a text saying the power is out at school? still no? really? north champaign loses power a lot. this sucks. so i get all my stuff together, walk out of my apartment, lock the door, and head down the stairs. it's raining. heavy. and it's windy. really windy. i push the garage door opener. nothing. push it again. nothing. seriously, why does the opener suck at life? (i have trouble with it on the regular so this isn't surprising. just annoying.) i press it again and crap, i see light and i'm closing it. so i set my stuff down and go out the door to the outside. the garage door will only open a foot. my umbrella and i (with my pants rolled up) run over to the garage door and try to push it up. nothing. close it and then try sticking the key in the door and lifting it manually. nothing. put the key in the lock on the side and hold it the entire time. it works! yay! too bad my this point my pants are soaking wet. so i run back to the apartment, grab my bags, throw them in the car, lock the car, and run back to the apartment. i come back upstairs, unlock the door, change pants, leave the apartment, lock the door, go down the stairs, outside and i don't even need my umbrella. it's raining, but kind of pathetically. really? really? yep, really. (at least when i got to school clayton asked what time i left and we had both been out about 6:45-6:50 when it was the worst... we weren't real happy about it).
