yes!

basketball season has begun! i'm excited! tonight we had our first home game! i went to jv and varsity... but i've got four kids on jv... all of whom played quite a bit... at least two started and one couldn't start (in part because until today he had 24 missing assignments in my class alone... he's down to 8 now... and it's about time!). i've only got one kid on varsity, but i've had four of the others... and right now we have a super small team... just nine kids... there will probably be a few more when the semester ends, but some of these kids have to get their grades up. i have one who is hoping to play come december 19th... but this one has nothing to do with my class... phew!

anyway, our jv team ROCKS! we won by like 33 points! it was A-MAZING! it'll be good to have something positive to talk about with mr. 24 missing assignments... and then two of the kids are in my 5th hour and they had some good plays together... and then the other one in my 7th hour is just fun because today a student and i told him how cute he looked like a million times... the jv coach made the kids wear dress shirts and dress pants with not only a maroon tie, but also a maroon hankie in their shirt pocket! they were all so cute, but noah just so happened to be the first one justina and i saw so everytime we saw him, justina aww-ed and seeing as though his locker is like 5 down from my room and justina stops by often, he got aww-ed at a bit and then of course all through class! oh and three of those four are freshmen on varsity! how fun! i love them! our varsity is going to rock next year and probably for a few years after that! i'm excited!

our varsity game was not as much of a blow-out but we still ended up winning by like 12 or 15 points... it was pretty close a few times, though, although we had the lead the entire game. we had some sloppy passes and poor shots, but we also had some rockin' plays! one of my faves (the only one i have this semester) had some HOT moments... and then so did zander, of course. i don't know if we'll be all that fantabulous this year, but i think we'll be decent... it's just hard after being so good last year! i'm hoping that macarthur isn't just really bad and that's why we won... i'm hoping they're pretty decent so that we'll be one of the better big 12 teams... it just stinks that centennial is gonna be so good this year, but when it comes to the central vs. centennial games, everything goes out the window and you just never know what you're gonna get... last year we won at centennial both times we played them there and they won at central so it's just always a surprise!

anyway, that's all for now... i'm still pretty "yay, i love basketball!" at this point!
