basketball makes my heart leap!

so i haven't posted about this on here yet, but since he was on the news last night, i figured i should update you (if you didn't see my facebook status back in may), but one of my students is basically a basketball stud... he was on ESPN's Top 150 list and a little over a month ago, he made his decision... his options at that point were arizona, kentucky, minnesota, and indiana. after a forever long time, he made his choice and decided not only to choose the best conference ever (Big 10!), but he chose to stay fairly close to home... which means he's going to indiana. and since verdell is going to be a hoosier, indiana is moving up on my list... i haven't quite decided how far up, but they may very well take #2 since i do personally know (and adore) someone on the team... and if you even have to ask who the #1 team is, then you don't even know me so i don't know why you are reading my blog. don't think that this will in any way affect how i feel about my illini. i still bleed orange and blue! (in fact, i found an old tape today that has the welcome home ceremony at memorial stadium from the unc championship game on it... i watched most it and dang, i miss college... i miss junior year basketball... those were the days!)

speaking of that season reminds me of the greatest comeback in all of basketball history... obviously, the illinois vs. arizona elite eight game... we were down 15 points with exactly 4 minutes left and well, you know the rest (and if you don't, you should! it was amazing!). watch below to relive the greatness that once was (and hopefully will once again be) illinois basketball!
